Meetings

We meet once a week in room 159 from 9 to 10 to keep things running smoothly.  I will post agendas here.

Offices

Oral English
The lecteurs' office is 102, on the first floor opposite the English Dept offices.  Your key to this office also opens rooms 107 and 108, where you will be doing some of your teaching.

The eight lecteurs are housed in 102, with a computer and printer, our CD- and cassette players, and photocopied materials.  You have a shelf here to keep your things and will be in and out between classes on teaching days.

Your phone number is 0493375327.  (From a phone inside the university you need only dial the last 4 digits; to get an outside line dial 0).

Office 304 belongs to Shona Whyte; Riitta Blum, and Jeff Storey, the three permanent staff members who teach oral English.  You may occasionally need to use the computer in 304.
Our phone number is 0493375431.

Office 121 is the English Department office.  The secretaries are:
Martine A
, who is responsible for 3LCE students
Agnès S
who does 1LCE

Office 121bis is for English LEA (i.e., LEA students who are taking English) and 2LCE.  Their
secretary is Maryvonnes V
.

Language labs

You will use the language labs for 1LCE and 2LCE classes, and for comprehension exams.

Rooms 152, 153, 154, 168 and 169 are audio labs which use audiocassettes and have VCRs.
Keys and technical assistance for these rooms are to be had from
                Jo D

            Pierre D
Their phone number is xxx and they hide in room 166.

Rooms 167 and 170 are multimedia labs with capacity for audio- and videocassettes and internet.  170 also has a DVD player.  Frédéric J
is your man; his number is xxx and his office is opposite lab 170.

Classrooms

Your teaching rooms are either ordinary classrooms, where you have to bring everything you need (e.g., cassette/CD player, VCR/DVD player, microphone), or AV rooms, which have some equipment, and are kept locked.

AV rooms

159, 234, 235, 236 are shared with the French-for-foreigners programme (CAVEL); the lab technicians Jo and Pierre have the keys or you can work something out with the CAVEL teachers, whose offices are opposite 234.  These rooms have audiocassette and video facilities and the desks are set out in a horseshoe.

107 and 108 are English rooms which open with your key to 102.  107 has audio and video facilities but 108's equipment is presently out of order.  I would like to be able to report temporarily, but honesty prevails.

Ordinary classrooms

All other rooms have no equipment, but at least they are not locked.  You will need to scout out your rooms ahead of time, since some have electrical sockets in odd places, and a few have chalkboards instead of white boards.  If you have classes in the extension, you will need hiking boots and a packed lunch.
