Programs This section describes the different courses and classes taught by the oral English team in the Department of English at the University of Nice. Courses This site is intended principally for students enrolled in oral English classes in the two main programmes of study (filières) which we serve: LCE (or English specialist), including advanced classes for future teachers (advanced students) and LEA (Business and applied languages). This section provides details of courses for students at each of four levels in the two programmes of study. Classes Competence in the oral language can be built in three areas: 1. listening - the ability to understand different speakers of English in a variety of contexts 2. speaking - the ability to express thoughts in fluent and correct English 3. theory - knowledge about language, how it works and how it is learned Students enrolled in different courses are offered different combinations of listening, speaking, and theory classes Evaluation Students are evaluated in different ways in different classes and courses. This section describes our written exams and criteria for oral evaluation both in the classroom and in oral exams.
